“Beyond the OC” launched less than a month ago and has already hit a momentous milestone: I was a guest on today’s edition!
Nearly two years after I joined Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) and Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.) on “Welcome to the OC, Bitches,” Clarke was kind enough to invite me on to her spinoff podcast. I was honored to join Clarke and her daughter CG for the full hour as they continued their countdown of the top 50 episodes of “The O.C.,” as voted on by fans.
This installment was for number 47, “The Safe Harbor,” and it was really exciting to be a part of this discussion in particular. Why? This is the “Free Marissa” episode, which has direct parallels to the iconic “Beverly Hills, 90210” episode “Something in the Air” — aka, the “Donna Martin Graduates” episode.
You know I love it when I get the opportunity to speak about the ways our teen drama worlds collide and echo each other, so this was heaven for me. There was a bit of an audio delay, so there were some awkward moments when I accidentally spoke over my gracious hosts, but hopefully all you TeenDramaWhores will enjoy the conversation.
Watch the full video or listen via Spotify below! And if you haven’t already, I highly recommend signing up for the “Beyond the OC” Patreon — you can participate in Zoom chats with Clarke, attend virtual podcast recordings and more.
