When my colleagues at The Inspiration Lab teased I was going to “love” their birthday present for me, I was intrigued.
“Love” ended up being a ginormous understatement.
Inspiration Lab founder Stephanie Lanier and her husband Andrew Lanier gifted me two original “Dawson’s Creek” scripts from 1999.
They are so legit, the fasteners on them are rusting!
Both scripts are for episode 2.20, “Reunited,” which was written by the show’s future executive producer Greg Berlanti and directed by Melanie Mayron (who went on to helm episodes of “90210” and “BH90210”). Andrew was a location manager on “Dawson’s Creek” and Lisa Barrett, who works for The Inspiration Lab, dug into his personal archives to find a script that would be particularly meaningful to me.
So why “Reunited”? Because the episode contains two references to “Beverly Hills, 90210,” of course!
I am in awe of these scripts and so touched by the thoughtfulness of Stephanie and The Inspiration Lab. It has truly been a pleasure serving as the organization’s freelance editor for the last two years and while I never could have imagined one day receiving a gift like this, I will cherish it forever.
A few months ago, I wrote this blog post for The Inspiration Lab about restarting TDW and rediscovering my passion. If you’re in the Southeast region — or even if you’re not — I highly encourage you to check out The Inspiration Lab’s conference this November. It will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center, which means the event doubles as an opportunity to see the city where “Dawson’s Creek” and “One Tree Hill” were filmed.
And you can hang out with me! I may even show you these amazing scripts…

That is so cool! What a nice BD present! I also remember when Joey told Dawson that she could not go out with him because Luke Perry was back on 90210 :-)
An amazing gift for an amazing person!
