ICYMI: June's Premium TDW Content
Summer is my favorite time of year. And what’s better than a summer filled with teen drama goodness? In case you missed it, here’s a look at all of June’s content that was exclusively available to premium TDW subscribers.
I'm Begging: No More Spinoffs, Reboots, or Revivals
This essay was inspired by both the imminent “Gossip Girl” spinoff and “90210” stars Shenae Grimes and AnnaLynne McCord weighing in on a possible spinoff to their series.
I highlighted recent comments from the creators and executive producer of “Friends” that perfectly explain why our favorite shows should be left alone.

Before I wrote the above essay, I gave my quick reactions to the first teaser trailer for the new “Gossip Girl.”
This edition of my signature news roundup also included a list of the teen drama stars nominated for this year’s Daytime Emmys, as well as movie trailers featuring Chris Pratt and Sophia Bush.

With Pride Month in full swing, I highlighted a few articles that looked at the teen dramas through an LGBTQ lens.
I also shared Mischa Barton’s statement in which she responded to allegations she was a “nightmare” on the set of “The O.C.”
Teen Drama Links for June 15, 2021
This installment focused on the announcement of “Drama Queens,” a “One Tree Hill” rewatch podcast, and why I was apprehensive about it.
There were also links related to Brian Austin Green’s charity campaign, Barton’s essay about “how a life spent in the harsh limelight led to multiple breakdowns and PTSD,” and news both tragic and inspiring about Blake Lively.
Teen Drama Links for June 22, 2021
There were some rare names in this edition, including Caroline Lagerfelt, Peter Krause, Doug Liman, Logan Marshall-Green, Gina Torres, and… Shane freakin’ West.
Of course, there was also plenty of news on some of our usual teen drama players, such as Tori Spelling, Joshua Jackson, Chad Michael Murray… and yes, Barton.

Here I noted how the “Gossip Girl” hype machine had kicked into high gear with stories galore about the new series — and questioned whether the show will live up to the hype and whether that even matters.
Other topics included “General Hospital,” “Supernatural,” “Sex/Life,” “Drama Queens,” “Mare of Easttown,” and “Unzipped.”
What I was most excited for in late June ended up being pushed to early July — this very week, in fact. On Friday, premium TDW subscribers are invited to join a private, intimate chat with Melinda Clarke — aka Julie Cooper on “The O.C.” and co-host of the “Welcome to the OC, Bitches” podcast.
This online event is only two days away, but it’s not too late to sign up. Along with the link to the Zoom with Melinda, you’ll also get a full month’s worth of premium content and access to the archives. That’s not a bad way to spend the month of July, if I do say so myself!
