Sydney Penny may have spent years in the world of daytime soaps, but for me, she’ll always be best remembered for “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Penny had a four-episode arc as Josie in the show’s 10th and final season, sharing the screen primarily with Luke Perry, Vincent Young, and Vanessa Marcil. Roughly seven years ago, we were virtually introduced by “Beverly Hills, 90210” executive producer Larry Mollin, and I’m thrilled she and I finally connected last week for an exclusive interview.
In the video below, Penny discusses…
How she knows Mollin and how she ended up on “Beverly Hills, 90210” several years after he left the series
The kind comment Perry made as they worked together and the direction Brian Austin Green gave her
How appearing onstage with her father, the musician-comedian Hank Penny, sparked her interest in entertaining
Her memories of working on “Santa Barbara,” “All My Children,” “Sunset Beach,” and “Hyperion Bay”
Her projects with Barry Corbin and Cullen Moss of “One Tree Hill”
Settling in Wilmington, North Carolina, and owning a local restaurant — Jester’s Cafe
…and much more! Watch the full interview below, which is my birthday present to premium TDW subscribers. Enjoy!

❤️❤️❤️ Love this interview! I love Sydney! I lived for Julia and Keefer on All My Children back in the 90s. I mean... I was completely obsessed with those two. 💜💜💜 I hope you go down and meet her in person Shari at the restaurant this weekend. Good job! 💙💙💙 And yes... Larry Mollin is awesome!
