“Bel-Air” may not seem like a typical teen drama on the surface, but it sure is drawing comparisons to some.
In full disclosure, I haven’t seen the show — a dramatic reboot of the comedic “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” — as I don’t have Peacock. But, as I mentioned last week, some reviews have been likening the new series to a few of our beloved teen dramas. At it turns out, it’s not only TV critics making those observations.
Below are some intriguing tweets I’ve rounded up from viewers who also referenced the teen dramas in their bite-sized Twitter takes on the new series.
It should be noted “Bel-Air” does have one bonafide connection to the teen dramas: JaNeika and JaSheika James, “Dawson’s Creek” superfans and co-executive producers of the “Gossip Girl” spinoff, are also co-executive-producing this show. (Revisit our interview from almost exactly a year ago!) I’d love to know if you’ve watched “Bel-Air” yet and what you think of the teen drama comparisons.
