How did I spend the last week of 2023 and the start of 2024?
Watching as much television and movies as I could.
I’m blessed to work for a company that closes for a holiday break, so I had 11 days off (including the weekends) to spend however I wished. I methodically filled that time with a number of things I wanted to watch but hadn’t gotten around to.
Here’s what I accomplished…
“MasterChef: Home for the Holidays”
“House of Villains”
“The White Lotus”
I only watched the first season of this series, which is created, written, and directed by Mike White (producer, Dawson’s Creek), and I do not get the appeal. I have zero desire to watch the second season.
Wonka
May December
Priscilla
Maestro
Foe
This only has a 24% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I found it fascinating.
The Iron Claw
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Robert John Burke (Bart, Gossip Girl) has a very, very small role.
David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived
Still on my list are Poor Things and All of Us Strangers, which weren’t in theaters near me and aren’t yet on streaming. Of course, my watch list actually includes many, many, many more shows and movies, a list I’m constantly adding to. Just like my ever-growing book list, it feels like something I’ll never reach the end of — or even put a dent in, if I’m being realistic.
But I look forward to having this chunk of time off each year to binge the most pressing things, particularly as awards season ramps up. You better believe I’m already looking forward to my next go-round.

Oh, but the second season of White Lotus is marvelous. I was bereft when it ended; I wanted to stay in the story forever!
I did as much tv and movie viewing as I could as well! Glad someone else doesn't get the appeal of White Lotus.....I didn't make it past the 3rd episode of season one. Poor Things is excellent by the way:)
