Teen Drama Links for March 22, 2022
You know I like linking to a good BuzzFeed teen drama story — and apparently Buzzfeed likes linking to me!
I was surprised and touched last week when I read “23 ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Behind-The-Scenes Facts That Are Almost As Juicy As The Peach Pit” and saw the article linked to my 2009 interview with Charles Rosin and my 2010 interview with Larry Mollin, both of whom were executive producers on the show.
BuzzFeed previously linked to my 2009 John Wesley Shipp interview back in 2018. Every time something like this happens, I’m amazed and delighted, but maybe not for the reasons you’d think.
I don’t do TDW for the views or the likes. It’s not about the famous connections I can make or furthering my career. I don’t even work in entertainment journalism anymore and haven’t in more than three years.
It’s always been about finding fellow TeenDramaWhores, people who share my passion for these shows and with whom I can engage. When a site like BuzzFeed, or any of the others that have linked to and referenced TDW over the years, share my work, it brings me such joy to know other fans out there are getting to enjoy my small contribution to the world of teen drama awesomeness.
I hope the people who read this latest “Beverly Hills, 90210” article found out some things they didn’t know before. And I hope they realized they aren’t alone in their fandom. For a long time I was. Thanks to all of you I’m not.
And thank you to BuzzFeed’s Kelly Martinez for recognizing my work and seeing it as worthy of being included in hers.
