Have the Teen Dramas Saved Your Life?
Growing up, the teen dramas were my escape. Whether I was struggling with social isolation or extremely difficult family issues, I was able to drift off into another world. I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten through those years otherwise. It’s actually a bit scary to think what could’ve been.
So I’m wondering: Have the teen dramas saved your life?
For our next “Interview with a Teen Drama Fan,” I’d like to speak to someone who is comfortable discussing how the teen dramas — even just one show in particular — were a life-saver for them.
Maybe watching characters struggle with addiction inspired you to get sober. Maybe seeing storylines about depression made you realize you should take better care of your mental health. Maybe turning up the TV loud as you watched helped drown out the fighting in your home. Maybe watching gave you an outlet during a time of grief.
For our first “Interview with a Teen Drama Fan,” I sought unpopular teen drama opinions. Obviously, this topic is a bit more serious — and I think rather important. The teen dramas are often dismissed as “guilty pleasures,” but their impacts can be life-changing. And, in the spirit of paying it forward, sharing your story might just impact someone else’s life too.
The only requirement for participation is you must be a premium TeenDramaWhore subscriber — which is also the requirement for reading / watching the eventual interview, as these fan interviews are a special perk that come with premium TDW subscriptions.
If the teen dramas saved your life and you’re comfortable speaking about it, be sure you’re signed up for a premium subscription and then email me at sharigweiss@gmail.com!
