I disagree actually about the quit while you are ahead. I think a lifetime project could work better because it is inexpensive thing to do and it’s a TV movie network. That’s who they should be pitching reboots to because lifetime is the network I think most likely to be for it. They won’t get paid much but still get paid.

Their projects together, regardless of network / platform, are not successful and not quality. That's why I rather they just stop.

Maybe this one can be if they put some though into it and not be the writers. Maybe get Chuck and Larry to write it. 😂😂

They DEFINITELY need to work with new / different writers.

I think them being the producer and writers isn’t the way to go. I think Tori and Jennie are creative they just need to have a team they trust and also have a story bible be reviewed by others who are objective so people who will tell them the truth about how bad or good their ideas. If they need a team maybe they could call some fans like you and me. 😂😂

Great ideas!

Also I think the producers producers shield out the negative comments from Tori and Jennie. Someone made that point to me and it makes sense. Because I couldn’t even find the negative comments. They should just let ones of us coach them on how to do a podcast and lets us produce. 😂😂 Kidding.

Well, they clearly need a fan consultant!

They definitely need someone to do all the research they need. Every question they think they may ask needs to already be ready and answered. 😂😂

And also I don’t think whether they talk I a chat often distinguishes how close they are. 😂😂 They don’t have to talk in text form all the time and they probably have each other’s number and separate chats for things. The thing is we shouldn’t expect the cast to be talk very day close. I liken to high school friends where one or two of you talk everyday but the whole group it’s just more sporadic but you are close in the sense you have a forever bond and you talk and hang out a few time a year but not besties that talk everyday. That’s ok and it can still mean they are close in a sense. They have never said they were talk everyday close anyway to be fair. 😂😂

They've spoken about the cast chat previously, including in recent interviews, as if it is active and recent. Today's podcast proves that's not the case.

I feel like there mist be several different ones. I never thought they did talk in it a lot because I know for me I don’t talk in mine at all really. 😂😂

Also I think it’s known that Shannen and Gabby didn’t really have a relationship so I think that’s what Tori keeps implying. Shannen was the only one not invited to her wedding I think and there is some other things I’ve read or heard. That obviously I take with a grain of salt.

I was also like "whatttt?" when Jennie said a fan bought her the Ultimate DVD set. Like, she's a millionnaire... she can afford it! And even if she couldn't afford it, she could buy it and then deduct it as an expense for the podcast. So weird.

Sisanie actually had a good point re: why did the network/producers (or more accurately, the PTA) had an issue with Dylan/Brenda having sex but not an issue with an “older teacher making moves on the girls at school.” I think part of the reason might be that the Dylan/Brenda was a long-term relationship and that we would have seen them/it would have been implied that they were having sex many times, whereas the teacher storyline was just a few eps, but it's indeed gross how normalized the "older male teacher hitting on a female student" trope is.

The part about the Unzipped podcast was really random. It kind of sound like a paid ad? But then if it is, it's not a very good one, since they couldn't even tell if it's a rewatch podcast or not... I've been listening to it because I like SBG a lot. It's not a rewatch podcast, it's just them chatting with a different guest every week. I think I would have preferred a rewatch podcast - there is not a single 90210 podcast out there, and also, having rewatched 90210 during quarantine, I had sooo many issues/WTF moments, would be fun to have someone dissect it all. They only had a few eps so far. I like their dynamic, but literally did not know a single one of the guest they had on. One of the ep led me to discover the new show Run the world, which is quite good, so was happy about that!

I'm not surprised that Tori and Jennie were not aware that some of the eps are not on Hulu/Prime (or on CBS All Access if you're from Canada!), since they both mentioned several times that they haven't watched the show since it was on TV. I'm more concerned with why none of their team (which seems to be quite big - there's Sis, a Producer, and I think they mentioned an intern or research assistant?) found out about this sooner/mentioned it to them a few eps in advance.

Yes to all of this, Myriam! I have not listened to Unzipped, though. It's interesting that you mention "Run the World" -- it is executive-produced by Yvette Lee Bowser, who was a mentor to JaNeika and JaSheika James, two of the writers-producers on the new "Gossip Girl" spinoff.

Ooooh, interesting! There's also a link between Run the World & 90210: one of the main actresses of Run the World, Amber Stevens West, had a small part in 90210 Season 5: she played Bryce for 2 episodes, in a weird work-related storyline with Naomi and her then-husband, Max!
