The producers of “Dawson’s Creek” are hosting my college reunion.
This November 14 to 17, executive producer and showrunner Greg Berlanti and producer Julie Plec are the co-chairs of Northwestern University’s 2024 reunion.
For them, graduates of the class of 1994, it’s their 30th reunion. For me, a 2009 graduate, it’s my 15th reunion.
I haven’t been back to NU since I moved out of Chicago in October 2009 and I had no intention of going to this reunion. After all, I’ve already skipped my five-year and 10-year reunions.
But is this a sign? Is it kismet that Berlanti and Plec are hosting my next milestone reunion?
It was at Northwestern, back in 2006, that I met Berlanti during one of his return visits to the school. We’ve since emailed sporadically over the years and, in an exchange a few days ago, he encouraged me to attend November’s festivities.
It’s doubtful I will for a number of reasons. But damn... I’m really tempted now.
