Teen Drama Links for October 25, 2022
I’m on fire.
Or perhaps the better way to put it is that my TV is.
Continuing last week’s theme of being ridiculously late to popular things, I have finally joined the modern age and purchased an Amazon Fire Stick.
My embarrassing excuses for why it took me so long: I didn’t really know what a Fire Stick did and I wrongly assumed they cost hundreds of dollars. But one of my close friends (whom I met through the SOAPnet message boards for “One Tree Hill” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” back in 2009!) recently set the record straight, explained the function and price, and encouraged me to get one.
When I quickly did some research of my own and saw that a Fire Stick 4K would set me back just $30 (approximately), it was a very easy decision. The device arrived in time for last Tuesday’s extra episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” and I couldn’t be happier!
What a relief to no longer be watching “DWTS” on my computer while simultaneously trying to finish “Teen Drama Links” on that same computer. How lovely that I can now watch streaming shows via my television, along with YouTube and many other things, instead of my laptop. My only disappointment / frustration thus far was discovering Zoom isn’t a native app and requires a seemingly sketchy workaround that I haven’t tried.
But that aside, this has been a really exciting development in my world. Add the recent release of Taylor Swift’s Midnights (which I can also listen to via the Fire Stick and which has somewhat broken my Hamilton haze) and this week’s FREE Teen Drama Trivia Night, and things are really great right now!
Oh, yeah — don’t forget to join me on Friday for Teen Drama Trivia! That would make things even better.
