Often when I’ve considered how long something will take and whether it’s a reasonable amount of time, I’ve compared it to an episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
For example: “Oh, that’s not even a full episode of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210.’” “That’s like watching two episodes of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ — no biggie.” “Wow, that would be like five episodes of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210.’”
In other words, I’ve spent years using “Beverly Hills, 90210” to tell time. And what’s interesting is that it’s always “Beverly Hills, 90210” I do it with. I never sub-in a different show.
But speaking of time and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” this Friday will mark the show’s 34th anniversary. Someone needs to tell me where all that time has gone because I have absolutely no idea.

Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea, Beverly Hills, 90210) was in the show’s audience to watch Spelling perform.
Look, Spelling was never going to win this competition. But based on her two performances, she was robbed here. She did not deserve to go home. And as one of the few contestants (or maybe even the only) expressing how much this journey meant to her and why she wanted to go on it, I’m crushed for her that it was cut so short. Also, while I’m personally not a fan of Spelling’s comedy, it sucks that she didn’t get a chance to play to her strengths with a lighthearted, fun dance. On the bright side, I guess we don’t have to worry about her missing “9021OMG” anymore — although she still did yesterday.
Hilary Swank (Carly, Beverly Hills, 90210) will recur in season 3 of “Yellowjackets.” (Deadline)
