Who actually reads TDW?
In the wake of TeenDramaWhore’s third anniversary on Substack, I thought it would be fun to share some subscriber demographics.
According to Substack’s metrics, TeenDramaWhore is read across 38 U.S. states and 24 countries.
In the United States, most subscribers are based in New York (17%), followed by California (13%). Internationally, while 76% of you are in the U.S., another 6% are in Canada and 4% are in the U.K.
The data also indicates a bunch of you also read

If you haven’t yet checked these newsletters out, I highly recommend them.TeenDramaWhore will keep trucking along as I head into our fourth year on Substack (remember, you can still access the original TDW on WordPress). While I make zero dollars from this newsletter, it would still mean a lot to me if you spread the word — I am always looking to connect with more teen drama fans. And, if you’re so inclined, showing your support via Buy Me A Coffee would earn you a place in my heart forever.

SAG-AFTRA Strike Update
News and notes…
Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills, 90210) very explicitly broke the strike rules with her post celebrating the 33rd anniversary of “Beverly Hills, 90210” — referencing not just the show by name but also her character and showcasing an in-character photo. (Instagram)
Hardly surprising, of course, given all the strikebreaking Spelling engaged in at “90s Con,” but upsetting and frustrating nonetheless. I honestly can’t believe the post is still up. For a comparable situation with a different result, read about what recently happened with Patrick J. Adams and “Suits.”
Ian Ziering (Steve, Beverly Hills, 90210) similarly celebrated the show by name in an Instagram Story.
What’s more, Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills, 90210), Matthew Laurance (Mel, Beverly Hills, 90210), and Randy Spelling (Kenny / Ryan, Beverly Hills, 90210) very much broke the strike rules by participating in last week’s “Beverly Hills 90210 Show.” (YouTube)
The actors were joined by various producers, directors, and crew members — all of whom were free to discuss the series specifically as their unions aren’t on strike. That’s not the case for Green, Laurance, and Spelling. I am very disappointed in them, as they should know better and do better.
Meanwhile, James Pickens Jr. (Henry, Beverly Hills, 90210) hit the picket lines and spoke about the strike issues. (Give Me My Remote)
Friends with Benefit’s “20in23 Fundraiser Celebration” — the renamed, rescheduled “One Tree Hill” 20th anniversary weekend — is currently still set to take place next month, but organizers say they may not be able to hold the cast basketball game if the strike continues. (Facebook)
Ticket-holders have through Monday to request refunds. I’m not even going and I’m eager to see what happens.
Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) will participate in a musical fundraiser benefiting below-the-line workers affected by the writers and actors strikes. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills, 90210) posted on her Instagram Stories in support of Israel, prompting people to attack her via the comments section in the most recent post on her feed. Lindsay Price (Janet, Beverly Hills, 90210) and Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills, 90210) also posted, but I did not see any comments attacking them.
Meanwhile, Jessica Alba (Leanne, Beverly Hills, 90210) was being attacked for her Stories much like Doherty. Then there’s Sara Foster (Jen, 90210), who has also been posting her support for Israel, but getting both hate and love for it.
Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills, 90210) and the aforementioned Tori Spelling are participating in an iHeartRadio panel next week called “The Secret of My Success.” (Instagram)

Blac Chyna spoke about her interactions with Green on “Special Forces.” (Entertainment Tonight)
I’m so glad she addressed this because I was appalled by how Green treated her in the first two episodes. It was horrible how their interactions played into the “angry Black girl” stereotype.

Burton was also on the “I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario” podcast and the “Busy Philipps is Doing Her Best” podcast hosted by, yes, Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek). (Apple Podcasts / Apple Podcasts)
The description for Philipps’ pod oddly says about Burton, “Her podcast ‘Drama Queens’ will return for season 3 soon.” “Drama Queens” is currently in the midst of rewatching season 5…
