Teen Drama Stars on Cameo

In 2018, I was looking for a unique teen drama-related Christmas gift for a dear friend. My quest led me to Cameo.

Simply put, Cameo is a platform in which you pay celebrities to record personalized video messages for a recipient. You pick one of the available stars, submit your request, pay the fee, and then the celeb has a certain amount of days to fulfill your request or the money is refunded. The company launched in 2017, but didn’t truly explode until last year.

When I used Cameo for the first time just over two years ago, it felt fun, cool, and surreal to have Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley, One Tree Hill) and Tyler Hilton (Chris, One Tree Hill) record special messages as my friend’s Christmas present. “One Tree Hill” was what brought us together in the first place, as we “met” through the show’s SOAPnet message board back in 2009. Now I was able to virtually connect her with two of the series’ stars. I still think it’s pretty neat.

When the pandemic hit last year, the number of celebs on Cameo grew exponentially as the entertainment industry essentially came to a standstill. The vast majority on the platform would not be considered top-tier (or even B-list) stars, and only a small portion donate their proceeds to charity. Furthermore, the quality of the video, in terms of length and content, really varies. But the platform remains a really unique way to link fans and their favorite celebrities.

So I figured it was time for a deep dive: Which teen drama stars could you connect with on Cameo? I rounded up a list below, but keep in mind this is by no means exhaustive and is subject to change at any time.
