Teen drama fans can be lurking in the most unexpected of places.
Case in point: At my new job editing articles for two business-focused websites.
The year was 2022 and the fan, much to my surprise, was my new boss — a divorced, middle-aged dad.
In the nearly three years since, business.com and Business News Daily managing editor Chad Brooks has become one of my favorite people to talk about the teen dramas with.
Chad and I have also bonded over others shows, discussing the latest “Survivor” elimination, our picks for “Next Level Chef,” and more. But somehow, someway, our conversations usually lead back to “Beverly Hills, 90210” or “The O.C.” or another show in the teen drama genre.
I’ve been quite satisfied with my role at BDC and BND parent company Centerfield Media, but getting to talk about the teen dramas at work with someone who gets it has been the icing on the cake.
On a recent Zoom call, Chad and I dove a little deeper, discussing…
-His memory of watching “Beverly Hills, 90210” the night it premiered
-How he views “Beverly Hills, 90210” differently today than he did three decades ago
-Eschewing “Dawson’s Creek” but then getting into “The O.C.”
-Another teen drama that’s one of his all-time favorite shows
-Introducing the genre to his daughter and the show she wants to watch with him
-What it’s like working with a TeenDramaWhore like me
...and much more. Listen to the full interview below!
