What’s your favorite season?
No, I don’t mean summer, winter, spring or fall (although I’m a total summer girl).
I mean: What are your favorite seasons of the teen dramas?
When it comes to “Beverly Hills, 90210,” I’m all about seasons 3-10. It’s seasons 3-6 for “Dawson’s Creek” and the exact same for “One Tree Hill.” Meanwhile, I can’t pick a favorite season for “The O.C.,” as there are arcs in each that I appreciate. I have no favorite season in particular for “Gossip Girl” and especially not for “90210.”
I find it so striking that for the three shows where I have favorite seasons, the first two seasons aren’t among them. It’s so strange that the episodes and seasons that are supposed to hook you and make you fall in love with a show are, ironically, the ones that I like least when it comes to “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and “One Tree Hill.” (With “One Tree Hill,” I also dislike the last three seasons, but let’s not get off on that tangent.)
Sure, there are moments in seasons 1 and 2 of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and “One Tree Hill” that I love, but I rather watch from season 3 onward any day. I think this is slightly unusual in the fandom. While I know many Poey fans would agree with me that “Dawson’s Creek” doesn’t get really good until season 3 and many “One Tree Hill” fans hate season 2, plenty love the first season of “OTH.” And the first two seasons of “Beverly Hills, 90210” have some diehard supporters.
I guess I’m just… different? But I also can’t ignore that these season preferences tie into my favorite couples. Season 3 of “Beverly Hills, 90210” is where we first get Kelly and Dylan, season 3 of “Dawson’s Creek” gives us Poey, and season 3 of “One Tree Hill” significantly builds on Leyton’s love story after its beginnings in season 1.
What can I say? I’m a shipper at heart — all summer, winter, spring and fall.

As expected, Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills, 90210), Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills, 90210), Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills, 90210), Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills, 90210), and Ian Ziering (Steve, Beverly Hills, 90210) have again signed on for “90s Con” — and this time they’ll be joined by Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills, 90210) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea, Beverly Hills, 90210). (E! Online)
The article states this will be “the biggest 90210 reunion in over a decade.” Putting aside the incorrect use of “90210,” “BH90210” — with these same people — was filmed in 2019. That’s hardly “over a decade” ago.
The piece also falsely states that “all but Doherty” took part in RewindCon in 2016. Ziering and Green weren’t there either. Way to botch your “exclusive” announcement, E!
I shared my feelings on “90s Con” and its ilk back in March. I’ll have more to say when this goes down in September. Buckle up.
