California, here we come!
More like: California, here I came and went!
Last week I was in Los Angeles for a business trip, as the company I work for is based in Playa Vista / Silicon Beach. I had a great time, but imagine my surprise when the temperature barely reached 70 degrees each day. In L.A.! In June!
This was my first time in Los Angeles since January 2009 — when I visited the “Beverly Hills, 90210” locations and competed on “Wheel of Fortune.” Ironically, during that visit, the temperature was much higher than expected and now I had the opposite. I am, of course, grateful for this opportunity to go to California nonetheless. And of course, I had to make my way to Beverly Hills, where I enjoyed a nice solo dinner (my favorite kind!) on my first night.
And how’s this for another teen drama connection? The company I work for shares its headquarters with Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company. Alba, of course, memorably appeared on “Beverly Hills, 90210.” And when I say the two businesses share the space, I mean it — on the same open floor, they use the same conference area, the same kitchen, the same rooftop patio, etc. Isn’t that wild? But Alba and her team are seemingly never there. Isn’t that wilder?
Believe you me, I fully planned to accost Alba and ask to chat about her two-episode stint on my all-time favorite show if I saw her. Alas, it was not meant to be. But did I take pictures of all The Honest Company stuff on display? I sure did!
